It takes considerably longer to achieve a likeness to an individual animal, rather than a likeness to a general breed and price for portraits reflects this difference.

The paintings are often commissioned by the owner but are just as often commissioned as a special birthday or Christmas gift as a surprise. Phil would be happy to discuss your requirements, the suitability of your photos and advise you on poses and expression in your photography.

It would be possible by arrangement (in the UK) for the artist to visit you in your home to photograph the animal for you or for you to visit his studio and have the photos taken.

Although the demand for paintings on velvet is very great the artist would be very pleased to quote for artwork in traditional mediums (oils, watercolours etc.)

Ordering Information

For 14"x 18" oil pastel paintings on velvet with a frame the price is £250 plus £12 post and packing (UK).

The artist will email a photo of the painting for approval after which payment is due and the painting will be dispatched.

Please allow one month for the work to be done.

Special occasions (birthdays, anniversaries) can be catered for please let the artist know.

How To Order A Painting

You can either email your photos to and he will contact you when he receives them either by email or phone whichever is convenient for you. He will discuss the suitability of your photos and advise you if necessary, also the size of the portrait, medium of choice and frame. You can also contact Phil regarding commissioning a standard subject portrait.

Standard Subjects

There are other paintings also available from a vast collection of repeated standard subjects ie. a typical black Labrador, big cats, birds of prey, horses, ducks or many other wildlife animals. There are paintings being added to the gallery at regular intervals. These 18” x 14” paintings can be ordered for £125 including frame. Post and packing (UK) £12.
